LASER CUTTING AND 3D PRINTING CLASSES AT MAKETORY
PLEASE NOTE:
- All classes are open to the public however, if you're an active member please use the Member's Portal or the Maketory app to sign up for classes. - Mandatory safety equipment for all classes: Safety Glasses and Hearing Protection (Maketory has pairs available at the facility if you do not own any). Closed-toed shoes, full length pants, short sleeves, hair pulled back and no loose fitting clothing or jewelry.
- Minimum Age for Classes: 18, or 13 or older with an amended waiver signed by a parent or guardian
- We require at least 3 participants to run a class. In the event we do not
reach 3 participants we will reach out to reschedule or issue a refund, whichever you prefer. - Tickets are nonrefundable (unless class is cancelled) and can not be used for another date.
INTRO TO LASER CUTTING AND ENGRAVING
Lasers are incredible machines. They are accurate, fast, versatile and provide the precision you need to bring a professional design to life.
Lasers work on a variety of materials including wood, acrylic, plexiglas, foam, leather and so much more. Whether you want to cut accurate pieces or add a custom logo to a finished product, the lasers are hard to beat.
The course starts off with an introduction to LightBurn software, which allows you to dial in the settings such as the power and speed of the laser. The course then shifts to the machine operations where you'll set up your material and start cutting!
INTRO TO 3D PRINTING
This introductory class is perfect for anyone eager to dive into the exciting realm of 3D printing, making your ideas tangible one layer at a time. Discover the captivating world of 3D printing in our Intro to 3D Printing class! Learn the fundamentals of 3D design, slicing software, and printer operation from our experienced instructors.
What You'll Cover:
Introduction to 3D Printing Technology: Gain a foundational understanding and the key principles of 3D printing
3D Design Software: Navigate 3D modeling software, creating your own 3D designs from scratch or modifying existing models to fit your unique needs and preferences.
Printing Materials: Explore the various 3D printing materials, from standard PLA to Stereolithography (SLA) and carbon fiber, their properties, and when to use them.
Hands-On Printing and Troubleshooting: Get practical experience by setting up and operating 3D printers and troubleshooting common issues.
