Maketory is a collaborative space for innovators, builders, entrepreneurs, and hobbyists. Our makerspace is the only space of its kind in San Diego and includes conventional coworking spaces and an industrial makers area with a woodshop, metal shop, welding area, blacksmith shop, and prototype assembly area. You can use the makerspace machinery independantly by signing up for a membership however, classes are open to nonmembers as well.
Woodshop
Our woodshop at Maketory is designed for use by beginners or professionals. We offer classes for those who enjoy woodworking as a hobby and would like to expand their knowledge and skills. To use our machinery independently, we offer the use of our makerspace through a Maketory membership. Whether woodworking is your life's passion or you're interested in exploring it as a new pastime, Maketory provides the space, tools, and equipment you need.
Metal Shop
Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including band saws, belt grinders, MIG welders, waterjet cutters, and more, our metal shop is perfect for professional fabricators or beginners. Our full metal shop provides the space and tools you need to create, whether you're working on your newest project or you'd like to join a class to learn more about fabricating.
Blacksmithing
Whether you're interested in taking a class in blacksmithing, or you're a professional but don't have access to the tools, equipment, and space needed, the makerspace at Maketory is for you. Our blacksmith shop is fully equipped with power hammers and presses, anvils, propane forges, and so much more.
Laser Cutting and 3D Printing
Maketory offers laser engraving and 3D printing equipment and tools to help you create the prototypes, designs, and products you need. Our memberships allow flexible access to these resources without investing in the cost of machinery. We believe in helping you reduce your small business’ overhead costs and boost your productivity. Whether you enjoy design, 3D printing or laser cutting as a hobby or are an experienced professional, we have the space and equipment for you!
Studio Space & Storage
At Maketory, we also offer private work studios that are fully customizable to your needs, dedicated workspaces on the shop floor, and flexible storage units to hold your tools and materials. When you choose Maketory as your makerspace, whether it's for woodworking, blacksmithing, or another trade or hobby, we have the space, tools, and equipment you need to be successful.
Maketory Memberships
At Maketory, we offer memberships that allow you access and use of our makerspace. We offer monthly, annual, and corporate membership options. Whether you’re interested in our woodshop, metal shop, or another skillset, our memberships will allow you the use of our tools and equipment after the appropriate safety courses are completed.
Maketory Classes
At Maketory, we also offer classes at our woodshop, blacksmith shop, and metal shop as well as for prototyping and design. Whether you’re a beginner with little to no experience or you’re looking to expand your current knowledge and skillset, we have classes for all skill levels.
